The kleio team

Anina Schenker→ Management and communication → Visual artist, lecturer at various universitiesShe is the initiator of – born out of a desire to develop a tool for creative professionals that meets the administrative and documentary requirements in the cultural sector: efficient, sustainable, and user-friendly.Her original concern: artists should be able to present themselves professionally and independently – with a tool that combines documentation, organization, and visibility in a simple way.She brings a wealth of experience from a wide range of cultural fields. This is based on her many years of work as a stage designer in the independent dance and theater scene, her practice as a renowned visual artist, and her teaching at various universities in different fields of study. As a lecturer, she is in direct contact with young students and knows their needs, demands, and challenges when entering the art world. She has taught architecture students at ETH Zurich, among others, and now teaches in the program at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. She has been awarded the Art Prize several times by the Federal Office of Culture.
Dominique Müller→ Project Manager, Head of Coordination Development and Strategy → Video Noir, Zurich, and part of videocompany / videoart.chHe knows from the perspective of artists, collectors, and institutions. At videocompany.ch (video art and other matters), he manages several important media art collections as well as the global video art rental service videoart.ch and is in close contact with international artists, galleries, and museums. He analyzes the needs of major institutions as well as those of young, up-and-coming artists—and develops appropriate solutions that also feed into the further development of . The focus: kleio should be accessible and usable for everyone. He studied video at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and fine arts at the Bern University of the Arts. Thanks to several art scholarships and international projects, he lived in Paris, London, Berlin, and Cape Town for several years. As a video specialist and artist, he regularly creates large-format video installations in international museums as part of the Video Noir collective, often in collaboration with the Berlin scenography office chezweitz.
Lukas Zimmer→ Graphic designer, usability, and user experience → Partner at A/Z&T (Astrom/Zimmer & Tereszkiewicz)His focus is on developing user-friendly interfaces. He is particularly interested in researching and analyzing changing reading habits on digital surfaces. While studying at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and the Bern University of the Arts, he worked with his fellow student Anthon Astrom to develop and program interactive concepts that have won several national and international awards.A/Z&T's most significant projects include the SKKG digital collection, the PTT online archive, Materialarchiv.ch, the SIK-ISEA research portal, and the “Werkbank” project in collaboration with the Sitterwerk in St. Gallen.Based on networked, open data-based data systems, A/Z&T now develops user-friendly interfaces for the collections and archives of large cultural institutions, tailored to the requirements of research and at the same time accessible to a wider audience.
Anthon Astrom→ Head of Software Development CMS → Partner at A/Z&T (Astrom/Zimmer & Tereszkiewicz)He wrote the concept for the current sixth generation of kleio with the central terms: , , and —the basis for the current tool and its functions as developed by the team.A work, project, or person is recorded once and can then be published simultaneously in different locations – internally, password-protected, or completely publicly.kleio combines a catalog of works, website, portfolio, and digital folder structure in a single tool. It serves not only as a database, but also as an interface for communication, viewing, and logging cultural content.Originally enrolled as a performance art student at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, his interest in programming interactive digital tools had been evident since childhood. Together with his study partner Lukas Zimmer, he developed several tools that have received multiple awards from the Federal Office of Culture (BAK), among others. This collaboration ultimately led to the founding of Astrom/Zimmer – today A/Z&T.
Fabrice Tereszkiewicz→ Head of Backend Software Development → Partner at A/Z&T (Astrom/Zimmer & Tereszkiewicz)He is a mathematician and computer scientist. He originally worked as a business engineer in large international corporations. Through his later self-employment and work on more personal projects, he came into contact with the kleio project and the Astrom/Zimmer team—and eventually founded A/Z&T together with them.At kleio, he heads up backend programming. This means he is responsible for the data structure (data modeling), which makes the sustainable, practical, and efficient use of content possible in the first place.kleio is a tool that stores data in its original quality and at the same time makes it accessible and displayable in all common formats—for example, for a website, a portfolio, or a catalog of works, both online and as a PDF. This gives users access to their content anytime, anywhere. The basis for this is the principle of Content is entered once, but can be used as often and as flexibly as desired. When this central source is updated, all associated outputs change automatically – this ensures that all documentation is always up to date and also enables, for example, a live, self-determined, and independent community. Its remit also includes key issues such as data security, login authentication, and possible interfaces to other applications.
Fabian Wegmüller→ Head of Frontend Software Development → Video Noir, Zurich and part of videocompanyIn developing the tool, he oversees the programming of the interface—i.e., what users see and operate. He forms the interface between the graphic designs from the design department, the formulated concept, and the structured data from the backend. He studied video at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) together with Dominique Müller and founded the Video Noir studio with him in 2008 to implement their own video projects. He is also part of videocompany, where he develops and realizes the most technically demanding installations in close collaboration with international artists, galleries, and museums. His greatest strength lies in his solution-oriented approach: he translates complex ideas into practical, functioning applications – no challenge is too great.
Fabian Voegeli→ Backend programmer → Team member A/Z&THe studied Social and Political Thought at York University in Toronto and New Media at Zurich University of the Arts. After years of working as a web developer in the cultural sector, his main interests today lie in the infrastructural aspects and logical thinking involved in backend programming. What sets him apart is his keen interest in socio-political issues—an aspect that also plays a central role in the kleio team's approach. This includes topics such as data security, the financial and technical accessibility of kleio for all cultural professionals, and the democratic development of the tool based on the current needs of active users—with the ultimate goal of benefiting everyone.kleio stands for a system that is available to everyone—open, supportive, and designed for the community.
Robin Lee Nicole Richard→ Support and User Guide → Game Design student at ZHdKAs the youngest member of the kleio team, she is —she is younger than the internet and grew up with the digital world. Born in Kenya, raised in the Philippines, and immigrated to Switzerland, she sees herself as a in order to stay connected to her homeland. Her passion is developing computer games and exploring their creative boundaries. The rules of digital spaces and the behavior of their users are also among her central concerns. At kleio, she is the first point of contact and support for our users and is responsible for the user guide.
Jonas von Arb→ Frontend programmer → Team member A/Z&THe studied visual communication at the Academy of Art and Design in Basel and is responsible for programming and maintaining our website , among other things. As a web-based tool, this is the central location where our users log in and find all information about the tool, showcases, prices, services, and support. On weekends, he sells vegetables at the weekly market, has a green thumb, and is a passionate cook—which the team benefits from almost daily. The team behind kleio thrives on exchange, attention to current events, and a sensitivity to new things—topics are taken up, reflected on, and discussed together.
Selina Zürrer→ Communication and social media → Visual artist and estate administrator for the Walter Haymann FoundationShe studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and completed her bachelor's and master's degrees in fine arts at the Zurich University of the Arts. As an active kleio user in the administration of the catalog of works by the renowned late artist Walter Haymann, she found her way into the team.At kleio, she manages the social media channels and works closely with professional associations to convey first-hand the importance of documenting a lifetime's work—ideally during the artist's lifetime—and to establish collaborations.kleio is making history—not only of yesterday, but also of today and tomorrow.kleio aims to enable all creative artists to document their work in a culturally relevant manner and to make it visible or accessible as they wish, in a self-determined and professional way.
